Downtown Ravenswood Business and Property Owners Informational Dinner: February 24, 5-7 pm at Las Fajitas

How does a free dinner at Las Fajitas sound? And while you’re enjoying delicious Mexican food, you will learn about all the free stuff available to you as a downtown Ravenswood small business and building owner. Even if you are just THINKING about opening a shop in downtown Ravenswood one day, you are more than welcome to join us. 

On February 24th from 5-7 pm, we formally invite all current small business owners, property/building owners, and businesses interested in locating to Ravenswood Main Street for an informational dinner, courtesy of Las Fajitas and Downtown Ravenswood Partners. 

An array of small business resource providers and organizations will give guest presentations. These will include Advantage Valley, the Jackson County Development Authority, a business coach with the Small Business Development Center, the director of Main Street West Virginia, and others. They will review all the fantastic FREE resources they offer small businesses and building owners that you probably never knew existed. 

These organizations offer everything from entrepreneurship workshops to skills-based assistance and technical assistance. They help everyone from early-stage businesses to established businesses. They can help them find accountants, website designers, and loans with low down payments and collateral requirements. They even offer free one-on-one coaching services by a professional business coach. 

Main Street WV also offers FREE design assistance to building owners. The director will outline what this covers and how to apply for the help. She will also touch upon grants from the State Historic Preservation Office and provide an overview of how to use historic tax credits. Based on the attendees' interest level, future meetings could be arranged to discuss the grants and tax credits in more detail. 

We will also announce new partnerships with other area businesses to provide FREE training workshops in the future, including hands-on digital marketing training. In these sessions, small businesses will be guided step by step through optimizing their social media pages and Google Business profiles. They will be shown how to use these FREE online resources to help them get more business. 

We will discuss ideas for future meetings and training sessions. We want to hear from the public and gauge their level of interest in topics that will directly help them to be more successful. 

Our director, board, and committee members will also be present to answer your questions, receive your feedback, and discuss what we're planning to do in downtown Ravenswood in 2025.
